About Me

Hello, my name is Sophia Thomas, I am a senior at Taylorville High School. My family and I moved to Taylorville when I was six the summer before first grade. I participate in activities at school including marching band, concert band, jazz band, I have been the head jester for Madrigals for 3 years, I assisted with sound and still assist with projections for the high school musicals, and I was a part of the journalism program for three years where I was photography editor for two of them. I decided to join CEO because I have been interested in the class since my freshman year and when I heard they would be an afternoon class I jumped at the opportunity. This class opens so many doors for so many students and it is an honor to be a part of the 10th CEO class in Christian County. I hope to attend the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign to study Music Business and Sound Engineering. I hope to run my own record label and recording studio as music is one the the biggest aspects of my life. Through music I have been able to find myself and been able to connect with countless people because music is the universal language. Through music I have learned dedication, work ethic, and punctuality. There has never been a time in my life where I have not had music and that is why I want to pursue a future in that field because no matter where you are or what you are doing, there is always a song to describe the feeling and communicate with others.
